When I got to the office Ms. Towns told me, "Go to the boardroom, others are waiting there and I would go with you in a while." I first saw Valente Alvarez, and then everyone else. Ricky, Carlos, Valente and Fran. I asked why we were there and they told me that it was prolly because of the quiz we refused to take. Wednesday we refused to take a quiz, this was a pop quiz and pop quizzes are not allowed at CAT. Ms. Towns finally arrived with us and said "Ok, this is what is going to happen. You are staying here the rest of the day and all day tomorrow." We asked her why, and she refused to tell us. She just told us, "You are here because of a situation at Ms. Miller's class and we need to investigate." We immediately know this was about the quiz. But being practically suspended because of something that is not allowed at school? Really? We were confused and angry. We didn't know what to tell to our parents. The bell rang and it was time to leave. We were surprised because we were only told to assist all day to the office next day, Ms. Jessyca didn't even gave her face to us. What was this about? What were they supposed to investigate? This is something stated in the Student Handbook and we were going to be suspended? Wow, what a bad organization and knowledge about the rules and student rights. This was for the day. We left the office without knowing what happened, or what would happen to us.

A Day in my Life
Last Thursday was a very usual day. I woke up 6:30, took a bath, get changed, and come to school. I usually get school like about 7:20. Everything was okay, I liked this school day until we got to Ms. Miller's class. As usual, everyone bored, sleeping, or simply ignoring Ms. Miller and having side conversations. This is everyday at her class. You may think I hate her, and I don't. I just don't like the way she teaches us and how she treats us. This english class was a little different. "Juan Carlos Ms. Towns wants you at her office" said Ms. Miller. I really didn't know what was going on so I just told her it was okay and went. This was the second time I got sent to the office because of Ms. Miller.

ReplyDeleteJuan Carlos- You do a great job of setting up the situation, but I think that it would be beneficial if you cleared up what happened in the end and if you learned any sort of lesson (I hope you did!). You include dialogue, but I think that you could incorporate it in a better way- maybe share the conversations between you and your classmates. I think that with these small changes you could have a great post. Thanks for sharing!
